Actually it’s been over 20 years since I became a Whistle Blower while working for the Dept. Of Defense Police. I’ve kept it a secret because during the investigation, I was told by the investigator that there was a bullet with my name out there.
For years after I was fired, yep fired, I was always looking over my shoulder, checking my rear view mirror for any cars that might be following me. Yeah, I knew I was being a bit paranoid, but I felt it was a healthy paranoid. After all, my testimony helped sideline the career of an Air Force Chief of Security Police and contributed to the eventual divorce of a Supervisor, not to mention the many others who were fired after that who either testified (lied) against me, or refused to write reports damning my performance. They eventually did write the damning reports, then were fired for their efforts.
What was it that I blew the whistle on that could have caused such an upheaval in an Air Force/ Dept Of Defense Security Police Squadron?
Well, it all started with a visit by President Reagan which we were tasked with assisting the Secret Service in providing security for his arrival and security of Air Force One. (to be continued…..)
