A Chance To: PRACTICE WHAT YOU PREACH

Wouldn’t it be nice for a change if our elected officials in The Legislature, or any where else for that matter, gave us our money’s worth. Sure it would. House Resolution 615 does just that!
Republican Congressman John Fleming, who happens to be a physician has really hit on something by using the underlying principle in the adage, “..what’s good for the goose, is good for the gander..” come to think of it, here’s another that applies, “..put your money where your mouth is.”
One of the outstanding debates is that over The Public Option; Government run Health Care.
Congressman Fleming, Proposed an amendment and Republican Senator Tom Coburn brought it to the Senate health committee where it passed 12-11.
HR 615 is only two pages in duration. The amendment would require Congressmen and Senators to enroll in the same health care plan they’re shoving down our throats. Fair.
Still, the only three Democrats to vote yea, where Chris Dodd, acting chairperson, Barbara Mikulski and the late Senator Ted Kennedy via proxy. So what gives with the rest of the Democrats?
It so ironic that in a day that has Dems acting like Reps and visa verse we still can’t get it right.
Here’s the moral: if it’s so good for us, you eat it too.

Who’d ever thought that Charlie and I would agree on the same thing, or that I would actually back an amendment from the anti-American (American people) Republicans. I guess the party that spawned the “Dark Lord” can have a little spark of good in them. Now if we could only get them to think about the people more often instead of their corporate handlers.
